The OralMED Health Group has launched an initiative aimed at helping the most underprivileged segments of the Portuguese population recover their Oral Health. And their Smile.
OralMED Solidária (Solidarity OralMED) reaches out to Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to provide support to elderly people in vulnerable situations, at-risk children and youth, citizens with disabilities, and citizens in social reintegration projects. These are people in fragile positions who have become even more vulnerable due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"At a time when the reality of social fragility in the country is becoming increasingly acute, OralMED cannot remain indifferent," explains Eduardo Pinto, administrator of the Portuguese group.
The OralMED Health Group is already contacting more than 50 IPSSs and NGOs from north to south of the country to establish a connection with their users and identify all risk profiles. The goal is to offer these people a start to 2021 with improved health and self-esteem.
The donation, in the form of treatments, which will begin to be delivered at the start of 2021, represents one of the largest solidarity actions in the Dental Medicine sector. Dental treatments will be offered to social segments that otherwise would not be able to obtain this type of care, essential for well-being and health.
This initiative arises within the scope of OralMED's Mission, which for over 10 years has been promoting the democratization of Dental Medicine in Portugal, and this is not the first solidarity action of the Portuguese group. OralMED Solidária is thus the tangibilization of the brand's Vision: "Oral Health is not a luxury. It's everyone's Right."
"It's an initiative that brings consistency to a movement we wish to repeat every year. This type of action is not only in our DNA but also fits into a growing concern regarding criteria for sustainable management, which are already part of many companies' agendas and by which we also guide ourselves. We recognize the importance of institutions in social balance, and therefore, we want to make this donation without any counterparts or commercial concerns," concludes Eduardo Pinto.
The donations from OralMED Solidária will be delivered on behalf of each of the clinical units and support areas of the Portuguese group.
