Over a thousand Patients joined the "Smiling Selfies" initiative
After just four weeks, the "Smiling Selfies" initiative came to an end with surprising results: more than 1,150 Patients followed the lead of OralMED Dental Medicine clinics and shared selfies taken in medical offices, posing with their attending dentists. This demonstrates their satisfaction with the treatments and is a clear indication of the quality of services provided by the OralMED Health Group's more than 60 proprietary clinics.
"Smiling Selfies": more than just a campaign
More than just a digital campaign, "Smiling Selfies" ended up becoming a movement, with thousands of Patients sharing their clinic experience by sending selfies to OralMED's social media platforms.
The volume and nature of these shares reinforced the human dimension of Oral Health care. It showed that the connection between Oral Health professionals and their Patients goes beyond Dental Medicine care: it's a relationship built on empathy and trust.
Portuguese still fear the dentist
Although odontophobia - the fear of dentists - has generally been decreasing in recent years, the truth is that there's still a segment of the Portuguese population that fears dental treatments and Oral Health professionals.
According to the latest Oral Health Barometer, 6.4% of people who never visit or do so with insufficient regularity still say that their fear of the dentist is the reason. While this number may seem small, it represents a 2.4% increase compared to the previous year. This shows that there's still work to be done in terms of education and awareness among the Portuguese people. It's a special mission to which OralMED Dental Medicine clinics have been contributing over the last decade through various ongoing communication initiatives.
