OralMED Dental Medicine Clinics Accumulate Achievements
Although it was still a year marked by the pandemic, OralMED Dental Medicine clinics have six major reasons to celebrate 2021. It marked another year of growth, innovation, and recognition of the quality of services provided, reminiscent of a pre-pandemic reality in the OralMED Health Group.
1) New dental implants used for the first time in OralMED clinics
OralMED Dental Medicine clinics were the stage for a procedure using 19mm trans-sinus implants, marking the introduction of a new dental implant in Portugal. The professionals responsible for the surgical procedure with these implants were Dr. Diogo Simas Rodrigues, Dentist at OralMED Dental Medicine clinics, and Dr. Nuno Cintra, specialist in Oral Surgery and Director of the Scientific Council of the OralMED Health Group.

2) The 1st OralMED Health Week took place
Under the theme of "World Oral Health Day," OralMED Dental Medicine clinics launched an awareness initiative in the country. It was a fully digital event that took place over seven days on the official communication platforms of the clinical units: the "OralMED Health Week".
Throughout the week, people could send their questions to OralMED clinical teams and have their Oral Health doubts clarified with the help of the country's largest clinical staff. A multidisciplinary clinical staff that includes more than 300 dentists specialized in all areas of Dental Medicine.

3) Integration of the new OralMED Management System began
The new management platform, which will allow for holistic and more sustainable management of the already more than 60 own clinics of the OralMED Health Group, began to be implemented in 2021, continuing to be developed in parallel. The OralMED Management System (SGO), a web-based application, was built on a leading low-code market platform: OutSystems. It will allow for automatic collection of all information on the functioning of the clinics, transforming them into fully digital units.

4) "Selfies with a Smile" initiative brought Patients and Dentists closer
In an effort to combat odontophobia that still exists in Portugal, OralMED clinics launched the "Selfies with a Smile" campaign on social media. More than 1000 Patients joined the initiative, making a point of showing their satisfaction with their treatments and the teams that accompany them. These images reinforce that the connection between Oral Health professionals and their Patients goes beyond Dental Medicine care: it's a relationship of empathy and trust. Promoting pedagogy and dispelling some prejudices that still exist about visits to the Dentist.

5) A new laboratory opened to support the OralMED Health Group clinics
8 years after the inauguration of its first unit, OralMED Laboratories grew again with the opening of its fourth laboratory in Alfena, in the North region. A unit that came to reinforce the laboratory production capacity for the already 60 own clinics of the OralMED Health Group. And which came to ensure quality control and accelerate response times for prosthetic work delivered daily to hundreds of Patients.

6) Contemporary Dental Medicine reached further South than ever
The OralMED Health Group once again invested in the democratization of Dental Medicine in Portugal. This time, through the opening of the OralMED Évora clinic, which came to facilitate access for all people in the region to contemporary Dental Medicine care and multidisciplinary approaches to their Oral Health problems. It should be remembered that the expansion plan for OralMED Dental Medicine clinics already provided for openings in the South, but the constraints brought by the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on the process. Now, Oral Health has finally ceased to be a Luxury for all Évora residents.
